Day of Action: Protest Mercedes/Daimler's Predatory Lending Scheme at the Ports

The Livelihood of Tens of Thousands of Port Drivers Is at Stake

Daimler Financial is intent on offering unsustainable loans to minority port truck drivers at Long Beach, CA to buy "green trucks". The leafleting will bring to the attention of the public the problems related to the "sub-prime" approach of Daimler.

When: 11:00 am, August 20, 2008 (and will last approximately one hour)

Where: German Embassy, 4645 Reservoir Road NW, Washington, DC, 20007

What: To Deliver the Report: "Foreclosures on Wheels" on
the dangers of their loan program that forces immigrant and minority truck drivers to take on large loans for new "green" trucks. Daimler's cynical plan endangers long standing efforts to upgrade both environment
and workers wages at the Ports.
